Tank Tyrant

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This policy explains what information Tank Tyrant (the game, its servers, its website tanktyrant.com and its Discord helper Tess) collects, why, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. Tank Tyrant is made by Simon's Game Studio (SGS), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) in the Netherlands. We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we do not use third-party trackers.

Contact: questions about privacy or your data: e-mail Simon's Game Studio at [email protected], or ask us on our Discord (send a message to a Developer).

1. Your player account

2. Purchases

Tyrium, the premium currency for looks, can only be bought through Steam (and later through the App Store and Google Play for the mobile versions). The store handles the payment; we never see or store your card or bank details. We receive and keep the order number, the item, the amount, the date and your Steam ID, so we can add the purchase to your account. Purchases require confirming that you are 18 or older; the spending limit for minors is €0. See the Steam Privacy Policy.

3. Error reports

When something goes wrong, the game can send an error report: the error message, game version, platform and graphics card, where in the game it happened and the last few things you did in the game before it (which screen, which button). Folder names, e-mail addresses, IP addresses and keys are removed before sending. A report is linked to your account so we can see how many players an error affects. You can switch this off in Settings → Privacy → Send error reports. Reports are deleted after 30 days without new occurrences.

4. Network and security

Your IP address is used while you are connected, to protect the service (rate limits, abuse protection) and to run online matches. It is not stored in our database. The download and update server keeps short technical logs with IP addresses for a limited time (they are overwritten automatically). To catch cheating, the server keeps a log of refused rewards and suspicious game inputs linked to your account for at most one year. Our website and servers are behind Cloudflare, which processes connection data to deliver and protect them.

5. Replays and match data

Online matches are recorded as game inputs (not video) so results can be checked and players can reconnect; the record of a match you can earn a reward from is kept for at most six months. A replay you choose to share (with your pilot name in it) is kept for 30 days. A replay you do not share never leaves your computer.

If you report a player from the result screen, your report holds the reason, your note and a replay of that match (game inputs with the pilot names, not video). Only our team sees it, to check what happened; the reported player is not told who reported them. Reports and their replays are kept for 30 days.

If you send feedback from the game (gear menu → Feedback), we keep its kind (bug, idea or other), your text, your pilot name, the game version and your platform. Only our team reads it, in a private channel on our Discord server. Feedback is kept for six months.

6. Streamer features: Twitch, Kick and YouTube

Streamers can link a stream channel to host lobbies for their viewers. This is optional. When you link a channel you log in with the platform itself; we ask only for read-only access that tells us whose channel it is:

We use this only to show your channel in your lobby tools, to keep one channel per player, and for a short review by our moderators (a very new channel or few followers is flagged, nothing is refused automatically). The access token from the platform is used once at the moment of linking and is then discarded; we do not store it and we do not post, read your messages or change anything on your channel. You can unlink at any time in Settings → For streamers, which deletes the stored channel information.

YouTube API Services. Tank Tyrant uses YouTube API Services. By linking a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's processing is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Tank Tyrant's access at any time on the Google security settings page. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not share YouTube data with anyone, and we do not use it for ads.

7. Tess, our AI helper

Questions you ask Tess (in the game or on Discord) are answered by an AI model that runs on our own server; they are not sent to an outside AI company and the AI does not store them. In the game, Tess remembers your last few questions for 15 minutes so she can follow the conversation, only in memory, and then forgets them. Questions are not stored, not used to train the AI and not used to build a profile of you. On our Discord server, Tess also checks messages for spam, scams and abuse and may remove a message or give a short timeout; a copy of a removed message goes to a private channel for our moderators, and Tess remembers how many warnings someone had, so a restart forgives no one.

8. How long we keep data

9. Children

Purchases require confirming you are 18 or older, and the spending limit for minors is €0. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data without permission, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the game; for anything else, contact us. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for important changes we tell players in the game or on Discord.
